Dain,
At the risk of sounding like a stuffy old school marm - the comments that you didn't check as 'helpful' should be a clue and you should have found them the MOST helpful of all. As to date, the only comment you have checked as 'helpful' is the comment that is flattering to your photo. You have also received 80 comments to your photos and made none to anybody elses. What's up with that? I think you owe a little give rather then all take. If you have a legitimate reason for this, then I apologize - if not, then get busy and start contributing to the cause please. Thanks... |

| Well sorry but compared to most other entries in this challenge this just lacks that certain wow factor. Maybe a more interesting sky, stronger contrast and in color this would work better, also the composition isn´t really doing anything for me, the foreground is too big a part of this photo for my taste. 4 from me. |

| This meets the challenge well, but IMHO needs some work technically. Sky is very, very bright, whereas the ground and building are too dark to see any real details. |

| I rarely vote in challenges I participate in and I'm not voting in this challenge. But, I told myself I would comment on every photo. In your photo I don't really see much harshness. It looks like you tried to desat it to make it look that way? I don't see any evidence of expert editing - that would be nice to see. Well, my photo is currently running around the mid 5's. I'm giving your photo a 6 - unofficially 'cause I'm not voting. I think it would be a fair score. |

A bit lifeless really. Difficult to keep the detail in the foreground while not blowing out the sky though, (as you've done).
Try looking into a ND graduated filter, it allows you to do this shot but whilst keeping the detail in the sky. |
