Well if I have ever seen a b/w photo of fireworks that works, this is the closes to it. Still think I would have liked it better in color but this is not half bad, that church is always gloomy and dark no matter what a photographer does with it :)

The exaggerated "lean in" works well here, as does the softening effect of the smoke haze. Like the motion blur of the characters in the foreground.

Mono was a good choice. All round fine pic!

So cool - sort of looks haunted. Love the drama of this shot. Back to bump you up to 9. Adding to favorites - the shot just rocks! In my top three for the challenge.

What a beautiful image - Great chance turning it into a black and white but it really works. Almost makes it feel dated with the church just adding to it. My fav of the set - 10 (I think this is my first 10 vote!)

I think this would not have worked as well in full color... the way that you have it adds to the majesticness that the building / perspective portray. (hope that all makes sense)

Kind of looks like white out spilled on a magazine picture. I like it a lot but the firework is not as cool as its surroundings. -8
