The soft lighting that illuminates her face is exquisite! Beautiful portrait that shows a wistful lost in thought side of this young lady. It is that soft light that complements the blossoming of youth from innocence to enlightenment.

i love the gradient of light to dark across the picture almost as if she's emerging from the shadow. great colors in the hair and eyes as well

Skip mentioned not being connected more due to a lack of emotion, yet the longer I sit and study this, the connection strengthens, wondering what's going on behind those beautiful eyes. I would have never paid any attention to the close proximity to the background had I not read it below, and even then, still don't really see it, as her gaze and those golden locks of hair keeps my attention.

Guess I'm saying I can't find fault in this wonderful portrait Judy.
Adding to my favorites.

Excellent job on the eyes! Only issue I have with it overall is her close proximity to the background. Still, a beautiful portrait!

Certainly a good pose and great composition. Eyes and rose gets all the attention, which is great. I do however feel that the blownout parts in her forehead are distracting, and the background doesn't give this power, it's too close and overlight. 7

Very pretty portrait, with just enough softness to change the feel of it.
I bet she is thrilled with this photograph!

I think some fill lighting on the rose side might have made this a more striking photo.

beautiful portrait, yes, but if there were a hint of emotion, i'd probably feel a bit more connection with the image.

Ah ha! It's Victoria! Your other picture of her is so memerable but it still took me a while to find it. This photo tops that. The softness is breathtaking. Beautiful portrait Jutilda!

nice portrait, looks like natural light. I might have bounced a little back to the backside of her head.

My initial response was negative on this image... mostly because I could only see her eyes and the messyness in her hair in the web frame. 3 seconds later, it had grown on me quite a bit. The hair became natural and a complement to her youthful innocence. The fully bloomed rose counterpoints that both in significance and in color tone.

Honestly, I'd still have cropped this pic in to get rid of the bottom 1/6th and the top 1/5th. A rectangular crop with her mole on the bottom third, and her eyes on the top third would render this image significantly more stunning. Additional benefits would be the loss of some of the stronger pink tones, while retaining the gently rose tones in the BG. I hope I remember to come back to this one after the challenge. I can see why you picked it.

I'll give it a 9 for the 10 I see in it.

Lovely model and you've certainly captured her eyes beautifully. My only nitpick is the yellow cast on parts of her face. It's probably deliberate, to add a sense of warmth, but it's too uneven. There's also a strange faint blue horizontal line across her neck.

Beautiful and simple. Great enhancements to the eyes. A darker background would have been better (black or maybe even a dark red). Good Luck.

She is such a stunning girl. And I think this photograph is amazing. The color and light in her eyes is so natural and pretty! She almost has an "old world" look about her. Beautiful work.
