not very good light I know, the camera is on a very small tripod, on the timer, so the bike is not moving, I chose the location, with the fallen tree to hide my right foot on the ground steadeing the bike, but as the camera was so low down, the tree has hiden more than I realy wanted.
shot in raw, converted to jpg with nicon editor, cropped, and one stop photo fix, in paint shop pro, then resized, and sharpen, clone out some hot pixels

as many of you noticed the lack of motion I should explain, I was alone on the bike, with a tank bag, I only had room for a small tripod, so setting the cameraas high as the pod would go, about14inch, set the self timer, and run round and sit on the bike, right foot on the ground, I no it would have been better if the log was a bit smaller, it was good fun doing it, as was the ride over there and back, Thanks for all the comments. Interesting capture. Because the bike is partially hidden, it almost looks like the rider is crouched on that log. Makes you look twice.

I think you could crop out a little on the left and bottom of this shot to give it more punch. Nice saturation and focus. ... 7

lower DOF woould emphasize the biker better and complement the fact that everything is bland except for the rider who is bright and colourful. as well, i dont have the sense that the bike is moving...

Too much of the bike is hidden for my tastes and it could do with showing more in the way of movement. The bike looks like it is propped up behind a log . . although I'm sure it isn't :)

I would never even think about riding my Ducati on contry roads.

Some I think it would have more impact if you showed the wheels, or found a way to show movement. It looks like your rider is proped up behind a log

no sense of motion here - he could have his right foot on the ground for all I know - excellent candidate for pan blur in this photo

Hmm, I find the log in the foreground really does let us know this in a forrest but I think its a little distracting? Nice shot and nice bike none the less

looks unusual. I like the contrast (not being able to see the road) and such a "road bound" bike. Neat image.

The motorcycle looks out of place here. It would be better if we could see some road.
