 Shot on the upper west side of NYC when my fiancee and I visited back in September. There were so many photographic opportunities there, but I had limited time and equipment (think "first-time tourist syndrome"). I did catch this little composition here, and I'm very fond of it because of the patterns and angle.

Post-processing was mimimal, at best. Burned the stairs and some of the finer details to give it some contrast, and that's about it. This was the original camera crop. If I hadn't been in a hurry and had more time, I would have looked for a lot more shots of this. It's probably not my favorite piece of work from 2006, but it seemed the mosts appropriate to share for this challenge. Enjoy!

i get what you're after, but find the composition a bit haphazard, as if you couldn't settle on where you really wanted to go with it. it also leaves me curious as to why you settled on this to represent your best work of the year.

Best: You expertly captured a fire escape
Worst: Its a fire escape. I suppose it could be viewed as a study of angles???
