Technicals: I think your 5.5 score on an animal portrait reflects the technicals are handled fairly well. Focus is on, DOF is appropriate, picture is sharp. All good stuff.
The feel: Doesn't really feel like a portrait, if you know what I mean. I've seen animal shots that truly feel expressive, but this isn't quite one of them. Probably a limiting factor.
The game: Again, I think you did pretty well at 5.5 with an animal shot. ;) |

I didnt vote on this one but would have given it a 7 at least. LOL great shot, love it. I suffered in the latest portrait challenge with my horse portrait, badly!! :-( It is now either my worst or second from bottom worst scoring shot! |

Cute! This is one of those rare times that I like a long title. :D This is a great image and would probably do well for you as a stock photo. As a portrait shot...well, I'm not certain. Wonderful clarity and sharpness where it counts. Overall, nicely done. Good luck in the challenge. |

You could make a very cool macro out of the way the hair looks on his muzzle ... sort of like a sea anemone. Unique perspective here. |

I would have noticed on the alternate portrait even without the title. It would be satirically funny if this one ribboned, which is why I am giving it at relatively high 9 here. Besides it is excellently executed. |
