Looks like a nice low key image. Maybe step out a few feet from your BG next time and try bouncing the flash on a white board placed to one side of your body to provide some shadowing/modeling on your face.

Nice picture if a little too posed-looking. Consider checking the contrast on your monitor - I'll bet it's high.

move your subject away from the backdrop. They are suppose to fall out of focus so there is just a soft background. You are not suppose to see all the wrinkles and detail of the backdrop.

you're going to have to learn Rembrandt lighting or get a little more creative to get a better score in this challenge, especially with a studio shot.2
