I went on an expedition during the summer holidays to an old copper mine in the mountains, and on the way home I took Route 15 and stopped off at this stream just before the road with many bends climbs up and down a mountain into Kanuma.
RAW conversion in RSE. Two copies, one unchanged which I used as the background in PSE3, the other one with changed exposure compensation and contrast.
On the background layer, I used curves and played around with selective colour levels, stacked on the second copy. Levels, boost of saturation, USM, resize, USM again, save.
I don't expect it will do very well, but hey, I have no idea what my best pic of 2006 was really... |

| I've simply passed over most of the landscapes in this challenge, but the strength of composition, and genuine communication of a place's mood here makes this one worth more attention. |
