| while i could possibly see this in a newspaper, i'm not sure what to make of it. this is one of those images that just leaves me wondering what made this stand out to you as your best image of the year... |

| This shot has great subject matter but it looks a little too much like a snap shot. Maybe a deeper angle, making it B&W, or something might have given it more impact. |

| This may be an important event, and the people here may be important, but this does not convey much more than a quick snap-shot. Was this really the best photo you took all year? Not trying to be mean, but to a viewer who does not have any perspective as to what is going in this shot, it does not make a good impression. |

| Great color and exposure for a night shot. I suppose the sign explains the event/protest as it is nicely placed behind their heads. |

| this seems to be an image more about 2 people talking than it does about a protest. Composition okay but I'm left wondering the significance. |

| I don't think that the image captures the decisive moment here. THe people in the front are just chatting to each other; it looks as though they don't belong to the protest. Perhaps these are known personalities, and their sole presence "makes" the picture, but I don't know them. |
