I've always wanted to try a portrait like this, but I have no willing subjects, so self portrait it had to be...this took a lot of back and forth to line up and focus correctly, get the lighting right etc.

Open RAW file in Adobe Lightroom beta 4, convert to greyscale and adjust contrast etc, save as jpg.

Ok, there is a ragining debte about people's voting habits at the moment, so i will attempt to give a detailed comment with my vote:

So first of all this shot stands out i find. It's simple and the lighting is very effective. Half of your face shows, the other half doesn't. The eye is super effective and the DOF is good. maybe have the ear sharp too but i don't really mind there. THis is a 7 in my opion because there is quality to the image. Not enough to go higher than that but it's most definitely a higher than average shot
