Although Joey is a very good photographer, I really don't like comments like the one below. I makes me think that you bump up the score just because is is "Joey".

This is seriously a classic, and would rival anything ever done by the greats. Congrats on top 10.

You know what they say about those young ones, Joey? They sure have big hoses. lol
I rather like how the hose and the arms mimic each other and form a swirl. It adds tension and motion to the picture.

I don't get the girl, I feel it distracts from the hose.

Well....... This should have been the winner. The best of the bunch.
No contest.. YOU WIN.. in my book.

I don't get the hose.

Just joking ;) I think it's cool and she's a great model. I also really dig the B&W tones. Congrats on top 10 :)

Thought I would see this shot in one of the ribbon slots. Great job Joey. Magnificent work, as always.

Beautiful image - great pose and composition! Wonderfully done!

This is a beautiful photo. I really don't understand the hose. In my opinion, it detracts greatly from the beauty of the image and the subject. Everything else is perfect! If we are to believe that she is dead from foul play, her expression is too "alive."

Very nice pic.. The hose really doesn't add much to the pic because the model's good enough without any distractions.
01/16/2007 07:02:43 AM
I'm not sure if the hose or whatever that is around her is necersary, but I like the light and the composition verry much. Good luck!

Very sensual with nice texture & tones. Well composed, good technique - conjures up a bit of déjá vu in me for some reason - not sure 'bout the hose...

Nice use of props. The eyes draw you in with the focus but the hose kept me moving around the shot ...nice work

I've looked at this a bunch of times. I'm not that bright, I can't get the significance of the hose. When it's all over this is one I'm coming back to read more about. I really like it and ranked it high but wanted to come back and let you know before the contest was over- great job!

wow! a real looker of a shot! I not only like the way you make the eyes stand out, but an interesting concept in adding the hose. Maybe I will try something like that. Very inspirational!

Terrific pose and lighting. I also like the addition of the prop. The only things I don't like are the arms cut off (the hand on the top is like a zombie hand). Still a very high rating.

What is she doing with that compressed air hose then??
  Photographer found comment helpful.
01/14/2007 01:45:37 AM
Sheezo! I'm sorry, but in an otherwise wonderful portrait, that hand looks like it's something out of the Adams family... or the latest chainsaw movie. It just seems EXTREMELY awkward or out of place.

IMHO the hose is more distracting than anything else. It's not really adding to your pic. Nice pose and lighting

I think this would be a killer image without the hose. It´s not working for me, sorry. I find the model attractive, beautiful eyes, perfect lighting. 6.

DYNAMIC! ... Super bokeh ... I dunno what it is about the cropping but I find it disturbing being just a tad off center but not rule of thirds either. 7

I like this picture but I find the hose or cable distrcting but, if it was meant to be a lead in line or to highlight an area of focus it works but, I think the image would have been beautiful even without this. The contrast, sharpness, dof and lighting are all strong elements to my eye. Thanks for sharing.

stunning...not quite sure of the significance of the hose as it looks like a really try-hard-to be-grungy shot...I would have preferred it without the hose...but that's just me...stunning beauty, gorgeous eyes, great dof...9
