This is a photo all about context. It is quite funny, but seems to be missing the intergrity of the scene to actually make it work. The two seem a little non-chalant about the whole thing. Nevertheless I like the idea here. The location was a terrific choice. Colors are great. Focus is a bit soft, but the exposure is great, more especially consider the difficult lighting. |

Also interesting is the fact that the visible letters almost spell "Iraq" - yet another controversial thing! I would never have guessed that the girl was actually a guy. |

Funny composition, Jeb. :) You know the technicals aren't great here, but that's not the point, is it? |

I love how the viewer immediately assumes the girl is doing something wrong (thats the impression I get) although she really isn't and that sign is probably not directed at her. Funny how she chose to stand so close to the guy, knowing he might have a few choice words for her. Great photo. I loved it when you first uploaded it to DPC, love it now. Good luck. |

I like this shot Jeb. I've always been a fan of the urban type shots. |

I can kinda just hear her asking "hey sugar... you lookin for a date?!" I love this photo simply because it his granted my friends and I about 30 minutes of conversation... for that alone... its getting a 10 :D |

I love it! Great idea. I think a tighter crop would work better on this - I would love to see a better contrast between the two subjects' expressions. |

This is a very unique compostion, but I have to say that the odd array of colors leaves me feeling "empty"--for lack of a better word. It's like my eye tries too hard to figure out what is the point of focus in this piece. I also realize that the assortment of blue tones in the subject on the left is part of what makes this piece. My suggestion: selectively desaturate to retain the blues in the left subject, then get grayscales for the rest and increase the contrast. You might disagree, of course. I'm just trying to sympathize with what you're going for here. |
