I can understand why you are drawn to this shot as your fave for 2006. It has an ethereal, other-worldly feel that is captivating. Roads to some unknown destination, when captured thoughtfully, always make the viewer want to follow. A couple of minor points - I think the horizon, slightly tilted to right, probably cost you some points. I also think the water on the pavement could be toned down just a touch - but that is an artistic call, and just something I might try. Again, fabulous photo. Love it. |

Great ethereal feeling going on here. The lines of the fencing is terrific, and I like how you put them slightly off center as generally you see these types of shots straight on. The horizon is slightly leaning which is a slight niggle. It appears to have a very difficult shot exposure wise. Considering all things it is well done. I might try a grad ND filter for this type next time and try to brighten the few trees afterwards. Still, I really enjoyed this photo! |

Besides the tilt I just ADORE this. The lack of subject really seems inviting to me - like I want to walk down that path to see what's at the end. The greens are really great, and I love the blurred-but-still-in-focus feel (it gives the image a magical sort of quality). |

Strangely tilted. Let me off the ride! |

The horizon tilts off at an uncomfortable angle, ruining the leading line effect I think you were trying to go for with the country lane. And the exposure is off- blown at sky, and underexposed trees. |

this is a beautiful, serene image. i would suggest leveling the horizon a bit, though. |

With the horizon being off level, it's hard to look at this without wanting to tilt my head.
I think this shot has a lot of untapped potential, bringing out some of the detail in the shadows. |

I really like this picture. I love the affect of the rain on the road. |

This could do with a strong correction of horizon tip to the Lt and darkening the road some to see some detail. Nice perspective |

i love Billings Farm. capturing during a rain storm is a nice idea but there is a little more blown out areas on the road than I care for. Also the horizon seems like it may not be level - maybe an illusion from your position. |

I think it needs to be very slightly rotated CCW. Great mood and contrast! |

nice soft technique, some odd framing/composition since i expect that road on this kinda photo are in the middle |

Horizon is crooked, maybe be better if the rooftop on the right had been cropped out. Reflections are nice and the little house in the distance is very pretty. |

A good image to show us the weather where you are! I feel the image could do with being straightend and in my opinion there is no real wow factor here |

I like your locatin and the rainy day helps add to the feel. The horizon is out of level which is a little distracting. Nice shot. |

This is nice but a slight rotation to level the horizon would have help. |

horizon is skewed and that spoils the image...otherwise the mood is great, you have captured it well |

Best: Setting, saturation
Worst: Exposure control, no subject, composition...next time try to get a more unique angle with a subject for the viewer to latch on to. |
