One night after class while walking through the college green I noticed all these white signs. The scene was very eerie in that it was dark but it seemed the white signs glowed from the light given from streetlamps.

The next morning I returned with a camera. Yes, the mechanics of the photo sucked - it would have been much better in the hands of a skilled photographer.

But I do believe this reflects me well as a quiet observer.

Yes, morning - most college students do not get up this early.

Oh, Mary....you really went right to my gut with this one. It's so sad.

This shot work well in that there are no people, as stated before, my eye is drawn to the focused signed and then trails away wanting to know more names. It also makes the viewer think which is important.

The only thing that distracts me is the busy tree line in the background. it takes me away from the signs and the size is a little small. although my screen res is 1920x1200

Bring a chainsaw next time...LOL

good shot

very poignant and stark, as there are no people in the shot.

What I find kind of striking about this (other than the sentiments expressed of course) is the complete lack of people. It makes it very bleak - which is entirely appropriate.

Powerful image... lots of potential, execution falls a little short. Maybe if the foremost image was more dominant. This would also lend itself well to black and white.

Wow, this is sad. :( The photograph itself doesn't shine out above the others, but I'm giving extra points because of how well you matched title to photo.

I'm glad to see this image. This is my big objection to the war, and to the reporting of the war. Thanks for speaking up.

Nice focus. The composition is a bit busy, maybe the buildings could be blurred a bit more, since they aren't key to the point of the image. 8

Powerful message. But the composition and the lighting don't have as much power. Seems to leave the idea stranded...
