Challenge: Best of 2006 (Advanced Editing V*)
Camera: Nikon D70
Lens: Nikon AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor 18-70mm f/3.5-4.5G IF-ED
Location: San Diego, CA
Date: Dec 11, 2006
Aperture: f/9
ISO: 200
Shutter: 30sec
Galleries: Cityscape, Seascapes
Date Uploaded: Jan 10, 2007

Using circular polarizer and the widest angle I could achieve (18mm). In Picture Project adjust brightness+sharpening low. Despite ISO 200 in the darker areas intensive selective noise reduction was needed in PS CS2. Some hot pixels and dust spots were eliminated too.

sorry, but this comes across more as a snapshot than anything else. you might want to check your wb when shooting this type of shot.

I would have liked to have seen the top of the mast reflected in the water...

Love the skeleton-like image that the lights and their reflection make. The colour cast makes the picture feel a bit murky though - maybe you could have balanced it a bit more towards the blue side?

too bad we cant see a full reflection

still nice

If only the shot included all of the reflection this would be right up there. I think 6 as it is.

Great reflection

Could use some more focus

LOL. I have a picture of this boat too. When you include the whole mast, as you and I did, it doesn't do it justice to the true size of this baby. When you walk into the Village you just go whoa, check it out.

Just thought I'd comment. No score, I'm not voting.

Maybe a little burning to get more detail out of the hull of the boat. Very nice overall.

Coloration is very muddy. High level of noise in clouds and water. Oversharpening of lights has caused the image to appear out of focus.

Good night shot here...

I actually think this would be awesome without the reflection.

Cool shot with good reflection. Would have been nice to see the full reflection but ..... whatever. Good luck!

Dramatic sky - I like the dark gold color. Wish the ship were sharper. Vertical composition might have worked better -including the refelction and more sky.
