 This was a fun experience for me since I never "shoot" birds. Apparently one legged gulls are common (maybe 2 out of 3 perhaps :) I wish there was only one gull standing on the post with the guardian above but they were moving so fast that I was lucky to even get this shot. It was lightly cloudy and the sun was still somewhat low in the sky and I like how it illuminated the edges of the feathers.

Shot in Raw. Raw conversions. Elements - crop, levels, unsharp mask, neat image, soft light, dodge, burn, blur, saturate, minor cloning, stroke, save for web.

Gosh Aimee, don't know how I missed this one. What an amazing piece of photography and what a great all-rounder you are too - creative, artsy and skill in the wild to boot! :) A super placing with such a difficult challenge. Way to go girl.

Aimee I love this photo. As soon as I saw it in the challenge, I thought it would be a top finisher! This sure was a tough challenge to have such an awesome picture in! That photo would certainly be a front-pager in another challenge!

Amy this is a great bird image in flight, especially since you don't do many of these type of shots.....
I am in awe of the two of you, as both you, and Tim have come such a long way this past year.

hey, one of the birds looks like he only has one leg....I do love the soft color and the dof. the background angles really work with the birds wings.

Such a fitting title! It's the first thing I thought of when I saw this. I love how the bird in flight slices through this image forming a very pleasing diagonal composition.

Very nice capture. The exposure is great and the clarity and sharpness I think are right on. I'm glad you didn't over sharpen the photo. Interesting subjects and composition. I like the little bit of bokeh and that the background can still be made out somewhat. It is an interesting background that I think adds to the composition of the photograph. Very nice color and tones in this photo. Good luck with the challenge!!!
