I'm not sure that this one qualifies as still life....but I like it anyways! It's an awesome shot overall. It does have a couple of flaws, like the bit of blown out highlites on the apple and stem. Also I would like to see the hand the ever slightest bit more in focus at the finger tips. This is one of my favorite shots from this set!

The use of light and shadow almost cuts the three fingers in the foreground off from the rest of the hand - kind of weird and intriguing.

Interesting, but those shadows across the middle of the apple...comeon, gotta get rid of those.

I like this. I think it may have looked a little better if the lighting was a tad softer and focused more on the top of the apple to reduce the finger reflections on the bottom.

I do not know if holding still it does or does not meet the challenge. All I know is that it is a wonderful picture. I'd give this one a 10 any time. Even in a challenge like this. 10

lighting on apple a little bit burnt out. But great composition for 'still life'

So far, my fave. Beautiful, and inspiring. I've been working on a series of hand images myself. :-)

Very good! I don't like theway the lighting 'cuts' the three fingers on the bottom though. 7

For me, "still life" should not have any human or animal elements in it, but as far as this image goes, it's excellent. perfect ligthing.

Must've been hard to hold steady for this shot! I like how the fingertips and arm fade to black, and how you can see a reflection of the fingertips in the apple. Good work.

I like this image. Nice soft light with a slight glow to it. I personally would have like to have seen the sides croped in some more, but other than that I really like this image.

interesting idea, original composition, good lighting! the only thing is I'm not sure a hand is allowed in a still life ... ? Nevertheless a 7

That's almost Biblical with the light spotlighting it like that, I can just hear a deep booming voice saying, "In the Beginning..."
