As a note to everyone who said that this shot had a tilted horizon, I specifically took the picture at about a 15 degree angle to get the lense flare. And if anyone wants to check out the book to get the metaphore that I was trying to present, the author is Clive Barker, the book can be found (I assume) anywhere. Not trying to be rude or ungreatful for the advise that you have all given to me, just trying to clarify that whole horizon thing since most of those who commented on this shot seemed preocuppied with the angle. It does look pixalated, but I hadn't noticed that until the shot was posted, oops.

This pic suffers from poor composition (rotated) and heavy JPEG compression. It looks like you had nice lighting without too much lens flare, but the other quality deficits are too distracting.

This shot seems to be slightly pixelated. Not sure how it fits the title bc I didnt read the book but again not sure that should matter.

I'm sorry, I just don't understand how this image correlates with your book title, but it's entirely possible I would have to read the book to know.

Technically, the image seems a bit pixelated or out of focus. It also seems tilted, but you may have been standing on a hill? It would be better if you were able to get more of the tree top and less (or none) of the road, unless the road is significant to the book.

Not very clear. Maybe the focus could have been better? I love the trees and the sun peeking through.

Too much fringing. With the camera you've got, you should avoid pointing to a too bright sky. 6

Seems like resolution is low

not familiar withthe book so....

crooked horison line, car and backgrownd pole cluter all could be fixed with croping.

Like the way you used the sun for a nice lens flair

Your horizon is too crooked. It's really pixelated, the sun doesn't add anything but a flare. What were you trying to express with this?
I apologize. If you are a child, find an adult that can help you with your technique. If you are an adult, find someone to help you with your technique and,not to be mean, maybe spend some time looking at some of the past challenges to see what other people like. Look at the ones that didn't do well and learn what people don't like. 2

seems a little blurry.

Did you consider this shot? Why the cars, and the background?
11/12/2003 07:53:12 PM
This shot is pixelated bad and it detracts from the image. Not bad composition though.

There may well be enormous relevance in terms of subject matter, however since I don't know the book I'll refrain from commenting on that aspect.
As an image this doesn't work at all for me. Horizon is tilted, composition is messy - lighting is poor with an unpleasant glare at the right. Image quality is also very poor.
