The red eye is of course on purpose.
And so is the book.
I overestimate people.

I am sorry, but I just have to take a shot at this one. You didn't have to include the book in the photo. Viewers are not dum, they would get the message. There are few things you could avoid in your photo. One is the red eyes of the subject. If you bounce your flash of the ceiling or disable the flash and use room lighting to light your model you will end up with more naturally looking eyes and face. Second, do not center your subject like you've done here. Try different positions and viewpoints. He looks very tense and his face is very red. Also closing his mouth a bit could have avoided showing his badly yellow teeth (sorry). Third, why is he naked? Do guys usually date with no cloth on? Just doesn't make sense in this case. Also, cropping the photo differently to give the person more space around him could have improved it tiny bit. Don't get me wrong, I uderstand you probably shot this as a joke, but even a joke photo can be done with taste.

With those eyes I doubt that book will be much help. Possibly next time use a more diffused light source to help eliminate the dreaded red eye effect. 4

Maybe without the red eye you could have scored higher.

yep... On camera flash is known for its harsh, unflattering light that causes red eye. Funny though.

Too funny...pionts for humor, but taken away for red-eye. Good concept though!

Great red eyes... without it... may be.

I feel your pain...

Too bad the editing rules prohibit red-eye correction (though you might have been able to do that without spot editing by adjusting colors globally. Or maybe B&W would have been a better choice.

even dummies shouldn't have red eye. in my personal opinion, i don't think taking a picture of the book itself is very creative.
