Day 21 of second 30 day self portrait challenge

Here's a collage of me and my daughter. This has been a milestone week for her. bad news being she lost her first pet today. Her fish died. She said goodbye and flushed him, Then we spent a good half hour in the bathroom Hugging, crying, talking about death and discussing others religious beliefs. She also has her first loose tooth which she's touching in the middle photo. she's only 5 so I didn't expect that to happen for another year or so. she's growing up far too fast. When her tooth comes out she wants to go get a manicure to celebrate. She thinks it makes her a grownup to get a grown up tooth. she can already see the adult tooth coming out and is SOOO excited. So I wanted to do this collage with her while she's still my little girl. Next thing I know she won't be anymore. I can't even buy her clothing anymore. she has her own style now. last time I bought her stuff she didn't like it so this weekend I need to take her with me to get stuff that's more "her". anyway. She's even taking a more active role in her diabetic care. Poking her own finger when we check blood sugar and pushing the plunger when we give her insulin shots. It's been years now(since she was 2) that I've done all of that. 10-15 finger pokes a day, 4-6 insulin shots. and it's so weird for her to be taking over some of the responsibility. I'm lost as to how much she does or doesnt need me these days....Well, I could ramble on and on about the ways in which she's turning into a young lady.lol. so I'll shut up now.

Beautiful pictures and subjects, all. You're wise to realize just how fast it will go. My son is 24 now, and just yesterday he was a little boy. What happended in between?

Awww... That's nice. Looks like a great collection of shots too - nicely composed. The only one I wish was a little different is the middle one - it should include more of you IMHO. But that's small potatoes. Very nice job!

Very nice Crystal. Kids do grow up fast and before you know it they are ready to move out. This will be a good memory for you two.
