 This is my first try at using our 50mm with an extention ring. Boy is that hard!! I took a million blurry shots before getting this one - only sort of what I was after. How do people get those beautiful blurry balls of light from glycerin? I struggled just to get a few. This was a small flower - only about 1.5 inches across.

Shot in Raw under my oven hood light along with a desk lamp. Raw conversions. Elements - levels, selective color, neat image, unsharp mask, border, save for web.

I like these glimpses into the centre of flowers. The DOF is just right, showing detail in the middle and slowing softening as it reaches to the outer petals.
