We all get old and wrinkled, that is a human characteristic, I tried to capture this using the head of an adult egret, the back of the head and neck looked so much like a bald human with the wrinkled skin, I believed it would fit the challenge as evoking a human feeling, cut off the beak so to bring more into line of the human shape, IMO this has a more human characteristic than a toaster or rock or iron, because of the skin effect.

Cropped and color adjustment in Raw.

This was a perfect fulfillment of the challenge and one of the most memorable photos from the challenge, possibly my yellow ribbon. Sheesh.

I love the b&w, the high contrast, the dark feeling and the idea. I only wish I could see a bit more of the subject because it looks like some bird and it's not exactly personification of a non-human. sorry for my poor imagination!:)

i understand that "personification" doesn't mean the image or the thing photographed has to look human, however I think that the best shots from this challenge convey the idea of personification, and the emotions and feelings being personified clearly. if I have to read the title of the image to understand what the photographer intends, then that falls short of fulfilling the idea behind the challenge (though that does not necessarily mean that the photograph merits a dnmc). without your title, this is just a high contrast, close crop shot of a bird's head. it's an interesting shot, and I like the detail of the bird's skin that you have captured, but I don't think (personal opinion) that it deserves to rate high in this challenge, because (again for me) when I look at the picture I do not think - "oh, that's an interesting use of personification." sorry, still a 4.

This is a nice looking swan but doesn't look much like a person.
