A view from my friend's balcony. My second choice for the January Free Study (and undoubtedly the one that would score better!)

Another magical country scene, taken with a magic eye.
I like this one as much as the other one, a perfect pair.....

Wow, those hills and wind-mills....there's something very surreal about this photo.

This is gorgeous! Are you using that HDR software? It looks so rich and defined. I love this!

Deb, this is a great shot. The rolling hills are absolutely beautiful. I can't believe you didn't enter this. If this is your second choice, your first choice must be near the 7.0 mark.

Very interesting and lovely, like a painted photo or an old postcard. I would love to hear how you processed it, if you're into spilling :)

Wonderful photo, when I first saw it I first thought Germany and I saw I was correct. I saw so many of those windmills over there.

I like the rolling hills in this one. Kind of a miniaturized world with the curve. It is a pretty cool perspective. I like the square crop here because it does enhance that "round" feeling to the photograph. The three tones are working well together here, the blue, the green and the red. A very nice color combination. Sharpness is good. Clouds are marvelous. Good control of exposure. Terrific lines with both the shadows, hill lines, and roof lines.

The only negative is the brush in the front. I like those whites peeking out, just wish I could see more of them. I realize not much you can do with them. Though I do prefer to leave them in rather than cropping them out, a good choice.

A great photo, colors are wonderful. Stunning.

Deb, this is lovely! The light has that "magic hour" glow, and you did a great job of not oversaturating the greens.

Question: what made you choose the square crop? I'd be curious to see the original photo!

I imagine this would have done very well in the FS, incidentally. You must have something pretty good up your sleeve if this was second choice :-)

I really like that we are peering over the rooftops, almost like Gulliver in Lilliput!! This whole scenario would be cool in HDR!!! Keep 'em comin'.

its pretty crazy, how similar places can be, way over here in california, we have the same windmills and rolling hills. If you would have said you were in the Bay Area I would have believed you. :)

You've been busy today and we're the beneficiaries. The processing and compositions of your German landscapes is great and the pale greens look almost spring-like.
