hi, one of the new critique members, here to give some thoughts on your shot....
positives, the bench the building and the lights on the water, the sharpness and stillness are wonderful here, certainly gives the feeling of contemplation and solitude. The light in the sky is really wonderful, even tho it is nighttime it has a brightness and warmth to it.
While I am left curious about the white reflection it does not interfere with the shot IMO as much as the branches on the right, I think cropping the 1/4 of the shot would rid that distraction as well as shifting the building and the bench to the right side (which your eye naturally goes to). It would also create a more standard vertical format. I think a reduction is the sides would help the eye to focus on the really great subject and light in the center of your shot.
nice work, happy shooting : )

Nice picture I like the bench in the from, but am a little distracted by the blackness in the left side of the picture. Perhaps a little different crop would have helped. But then again the picture wouldn't have balanced out as well. |

This is so pretty, I love the quiet feel of the shot. The lighting on the building is very nice and the bench in the front is a nice touch, it helps break up the bottom of the shot without distracting from it. I started this at a 7 but am raising to an 8, could be higher but the crops on the sides could be a tad tighter and the white border is a bit distracting. |

I like the warm glow, the nice reflections, and the backlight. At first glance, I thought that I would like to see some of the bottom cropped off, but after coming back to it, I like the feeling of depth that the large dark area at the bottom gives it. I would rather see both sides cropped in so that your subject fills more of the frame, and doesn't look so lonely there. I also don't care for the white border, it does not seem to complement the shot - (I don't usually lower my vote for borders). |

The foreground elements just need to be more discernible. |

Wonderfully done, and gives a feeling of preciousness, of being a beacon. Can't work out what's going on with that white patch of water - where's the light it's reflecting? It somehow looks real though, so I'll go with it :-)
Love the foreground silhouettes, and won't be at all surprised if you win with this. |

I like the personal nature of this, and I like the bench. This is an interesting photo that Invites you to keep looking- the grey/black is nice- and even the bad blue pixel works. |

Nice shot. IMO I would have done it verticle and ommitted the tree branches on the right. |
