This is Gruene Hall (pronounced Green). Nestled in the heart of a very charming, old-timey town just north of San Antonio. People love to come here and shop, eat, stroll around -- or go inner tubing or swimming in the Guadalupe River just behind the town. There's antique shops, a soda fountain, restaurants where you can sit on decks built around enormous oak trees and watch the river rage by. It's such a fun place to be.

Gruene Hall is everyone's favorite. It's "the" place to go in Gruene. It's kind of a famous old dance hall that hosts the Texas greats like Willie Nelson and Jerry Jeff Walker.

Here's a picture of the river running right behind and alongside of Gruene.

Hey, I know that place! It's also a great place to start and end a bike ride. What kind of processing did you do? I really like the softness on the building, and that's a great angle to shoot this with the flowers in the foreground. Definitely one of my favorite places to visit and shoot.

Nice compositional blend of fine details in the flower bed with a strong solid background that's artfully dodged. The Texas Chamber of Commerce is going to wonder why the tourist traffic is so high this year.

Really nice choice of angles here, and wonderful view of the Hall; if I'm not mistaken, one of my favorite artists - Stevie Ray Vaughn - played there at least a few times (I'm trying to remember if this was one of his regular haunts, but my memory's not good enough to remember right now).

I've never been a fan of borders, but I honestly like how you incorporate them. I might even try one or two now, you're converting me.
I'm sure it's the skill of the creator. The entire image is magnificent. Great job.

I love the bright splashes of color from the flowers up front. Has an old west type of feel with the pp effects you used.

Cool looking place. I wonder if it was a "Grange" hall a long time ago? Beautiful the way you have photographed it with the garden in the foreground.
It stands out to me that it has no shutters or awnings of any kind. Is that a common feature of local building style?

I loved this place! The dance hall was great. It was right off the guadalope river if I remember right. The best part of it was that it is pronounced "Green". I guess because it is German. Nice frame and I love the plants.

Love the all the colour from the flowers, looks like a brill place to go and visit. The soft editing makes the wood on the hall look great.

Awesome pic, Sandy. It would make an excellent postcard for the Gruene Chamber of Commerce. That is GREAT
