 Cape Town music school, prelim string ensemble practice 5.30pm at the end of a very hot day (max 37 degrees C ). This little poppet - not one of my brood for change - has the most gorgeous soft,red curls and freckles. I desperately wanted to make this black and white, and had the difficult choice of stripping the colour or leaving it in. Hope I made the right decision.

I didn't get a chance to vote in this challeng but I did wander through the images once, and this once caught my eye immediately. This is very much in the spirit of the challenge and epitomizes the beauty of young people learning to appreciate music. Very well composed (photographically - not sure of the composition they're playing) and delightfully soft and gentle. Very nice work.

Fits the challenge perfectly, but composition is not great.

Would have been better if all four kids faces could be seen and the bow in the top right corner was not there.

I would've liked to see a little more contrast here, I like it though!

Very nice image of actual students practicing. The perspective is nice, where we can see the faces of all the students in the string group. The only thing I don't like it the boy from the other student off camera. This blocks our view of the second cellist. There are some minor blown out areas on the music but it is not much to complain about. Overall, a good image. 6
