Oh man, my alternate for this challenge was turnips. I REALLY wanted to try to take an otherwise unattractive fruit/vegetable & do something interesting with it but went with a cliché shot instead (sort of a 'learn the rules before you break them' lesson for me...).
Anyway, that's what I like about this - that and its strong first impression. It's a little bottom-heavy for my tastes and deeper dof would have satisfied my detail fix but I like the lighting you employed here.

congratulations - this photograph contains a fruit and/or a vegetable, therefore it meets the challenge! well done!
vulgaris is right! i certainly wouldn't eat that! LOL 6! |

| I like the idea of this. Great lighting. I'd have the root sticking up in the background out of the shot and have them sitting on a solid black surface. |
