 Crop -> clone out thread from which blueberry is suspended -> Levels -> Curves -> Dodge & Burn on blueberry -> Resize for web -> USM.

I wanted to reproduce the classic bullet through the apple photo. Unfortunately, my apple carving skills aren't that great, and this being the fourth apple in my string of carving attempts, I was beginning to lose interest. I decided that rather than doing a side-on shot as in the classic bullet photo, I'd use a different angle so I could blur the apple so as not to highlight my poor carving. I used lemon juice from one of those squeezy lemons on the apple to prevent it from getting all brown. This is something I learned in sixth grade Home Ec class, a class I thought was SO useless. I guess I was wrong, hehe.

The new angle helps to show the blueberry as the subject and hopefully minimize the need for explosive spray and shrapnel.

My brother is up from NY this weekend for a visit, and he thought it was pretty funny that I was doing this, so he took a pic of me taking this shot. Here it is:

I love how sharp the blueberry is and the floating affect but I guess I'm not understanding what's behind it and what it has to do with it?

The thing in the background is very distracting as is. It really makes this unappealing to me personally. Great job in suspending the blueberry "bullet". :)
