 This is Corrie, the daughter of one of my closest friends. She is like family to me and was gracious enough to come over and pose for me. I took a couple hundred shots and this was one of the last and it wasn't posed. She was fixing her hair and for some reason I just love this shot. It just shows a personal moment and it really hits me for some reason. Corrie lost her older brother three years ago to brain cancer and lost a lot of the childhood she deserved. To me, this picture shows a glimmer of hope that resides inside her. I hope it does well, but if it doesn't... it doesn't really matter...

I like your story in the comments. I often shoot photos of friends and family too, not necessarily studio set ups. But I often find the ones I like the best are those in between moments, when something natural slips out to camera.

what a great face - love the 'I have THE look down' expression - the lighting on the face is solid, but I would have liked just a little more lighting on the body of the guitar (tilt it up just a little)
