Congrats Griz. Nice job. I'm not a fruit eater generally, but your basket looks so nice, I might even be enticed! Congrats David.

Yeah, we WILL celebrate together.

Wow-great finish! Congratulations on your new personal best. I love the arrangement and lighting. The crop might be a little tight on the basket. As to the background, I think pure black would have been too stark. |

Ooh - a personal best ! Congratulations.
I gave this a -6- during voting. It's a bit soft, and the crop is just a bit too tight on the basket.
The lighting is perfect, and the colours are wonderful. |

Congrats on the new personal best! The lighting in this shot is perfect - no harsh glares anywhere, very soft, and great color. You also did a very good job arranging the basket and placing it within the frame, though maybe leave just a WEE bit of space above the handle to keep it all in frame. But I really liked this one when voting (didn't do a lot of commenting on this challenge). It's a bit quieter, a bit more "gentle" than some of the higher scoring pics but that's DPC for you. This be very good! |

Congratulation on your new personal best. You deserved it with this shot.
Some people said you should make the background blacker. I happen to like the folds in the fabric. Maybe the problem is it is in between. It's a little too dark to see the fabric, and a little to light to be a pure black. I'd go for lighter, because you seem to have taken some care to arrange the fabric, and I think that would be more interesting than the stock shot you'd get with pure black. |

Congrats on your new high score! Just ignore lecter. Still life is still life, and this is a beautifully colorful example.
To increase the score by a bit, there are a few small things you could do: don't crop quite so tightly, really nail the focus, maybe brighten it a bit, and make your background pure black. Oh, and I suppose misting some water onto the fruit wouldn't hurt - that seems to bump scores at DPC.
But those are all small things. |

Nice arrangement & photo, but perhaps cropped a little too tight on the borders of the basket |

A tad tight on the crop at bottom and top. Nice lighting. I might up the saturation of black in the background to make it more solid. |
