it was a rainy day- we were driving to a friend's house when we noticed something of a ruckus down the road.. we pulled over and got out - a gruesome site- the twisted remains of what used to be a car- debris on the road.. and a tree (not much more than 10 inches in diameter) - unscathed beyond an area of bark missing.. i took a lot of pictures and decided on this one for the contest. i went with the grain - it seems like something you'd see on an anti-smoking anti-drugs poster.. something of a harsh look to it.. i decided to avoid color... again.

haha....it almost sounds like people believe that you think we need to get rid of trees, because they cause accidents. i love this, by the way:-D

So we should cut them all down you think? Maybe better guard rails. Powerful image.

is this a shot of an old picture?
if it is not, it has double merit because the "old" style you added, a good work:)

this looks like it could be part of a drunk driving video.

Wow, I hate it when trees just jump out in front of traffic like that. :)

The title makes this otherwise unfortunate situation rather amusing. Nice pic, got a sort of newspaper feel to it.

The contrast is too strong IMHO, spoils what could have been a good shot. Also I'm not quite sure about your title? Trees are mostly harmless, but then again how often does prpaganda tell the truth?

The grain is very effective in this picture. Just wish we could see the tree. Good shot.

Great anti-tree propaganda ... especially the title is provocating. Since it's mostly the driver's fault, not the trees' ... your picture works!

Funny title. Well composed but too contrasty and overexposed.

Over contrast and sharpened. I'm sure you were going for the newspaper feel, but I feel it's distracting. Overall concept and composition do not grab me. 5 -danny
