First entry in a Year! Good to be back.

I know my score will suffer from the DNMC strictists. But I do not care... this shot was taken in the streets of Mobile durring Mardi gras. It told a story of a man who was so devoted to his music that he chose a life of poverty to pursue it. He plays on, even though he is moving up in age and can't afford to fix his glasses.

The other pictures I had showed more "street" in the scene, but only he deserved to have his story told.

hmmm...i think i like "Hitting the High Notes" better. great skin tones, unfortunately the trumpet paid the price by being blown out...pun intended ;)

This is a wonderful informal portrait with wonderful processing, but IMNSHO, it's not really street photography. Were the broken glasses supposed to give the quirkiness? I had to read the title before I got it. The above is my personal opinion and not meant to be snarky. Great picture, but wrong challenge.

Very nice shot. I really love the contrast the B&W provides.

Lovely rich toning and nice intimate close up. The whites seem really harsh, especially where there are large blobs on his finger nails and trumpet reflections. Skin detail just lovely.
