Challenge: Trees (Minimal Editing I)
Camera: Canon PowerShot G2
Location: Harkness State Park, Waterford, CT
Date: Feb 17, 2007
Aperture: f4
ISO: 50
Shutter: 1/200
Galleries: Landscape, Infrared
Date Uploaded: Feb 18, 2007

when I saw the challenge topic, I knew instantly where I wanted to take this shot. These two trees stand alone in a grassy area, next to the Long Island Sound. I had originally planned to shoot these trees for the Minimalist challenge, but never got a chance to get here.

Taken in infrared as a jpg. Resize, sharpen once. Save for web.

that is kind of creepy. where this shot was taken actually has that same spit of land jutting out on the left! BTW, nice shot!

Thanks everyone for the kind votes and comments. I had this feeling all week that, despite a score above 7, that I would still finish out of the ribbon territory. The ribbon winners certainly deserve it; those are fantastic shots.

Perfect for IR. The composition/balance is just right. The trees against the warm tones of the sky is beautiful.
