I have never done street photography before, not even sure if I totally understand what it is. I didn't want to do the typical pictures of homeless people although that is what is likely going to win this challenge.

nothing really interesting going on in the frame and the tones are very muddy and flat.

Hey.. it's Calgary!

It's not that great a shot, however. This is less street photography as it is a city-scape.. which happens to be a little busy and not well composed.

I think in the future I would try to concentrate more on the street or the skyline. When you try to do both like this, it's hard for the viewer to figure out which you subject is supposed to be.

Taking the challenge kinda literal? I can't find anything that draws me in, especially in regards to Street Photography as described in the contest.

yeah, well, Calgary GETS those sort of days... Makes me a little homesick for the old cowtown, actually - and I haven't lived there in decades. 8

I saw that Tower and immediately thought I was looking at a San Antonio skyline, but it looked so different :) That structure is such a definining feature of a skyline, isn't it?

While this shot is of a street, it just doesn't "say" anything to me. There is no focal point, no story, nothing to hold my interest... its just a street and nothing more.
