 took this pic on a wooden bench with a desk lamp. i normally do pics in what is apparently known as low key, but the challenge here for me was taking a broad subject and finding something inspiring. i had a different idea that would have been really cool, but i had problems with blur and noise. when i first saw this flower , i was reminded of the winner from the last low key challenge. i figured that since i was in a rut, i may as well try. i don't expect this to ribbon, but with three hours left before voting, not much of a choice. anyways, here's what i did on Adobe Photoshop CS2;

Layers:
brightness/contrast
hue/saturation
channel mixer

Filters:
noise reduction

oh yeah, and crop
hope you guys like it :O)

I like this a lot...I feel it should have been at 6 or higher, not much to offer in comment though other than this would have been a GREAT Minimilism entry as well....you have a good eye!!!

I think I'd prefer a little more negative space into the top right, to give a bit of a lonely feel. The reflection seems to fit though, it gives the sense that the flower is actually sitting somewhere. Perhaps you could include a little more of that 'somewhere' (in VERY low key of course).

I love the placement of the flower, and the lighting has worked well for you.

Holy Cow!!! I placed in the top 75%!!! no favorites, but i creamed my previous record, fo' sho'. if anyone wants to critique this, feel free. so happy :-D... still happy :-P
