I'm still trying to figure this out...looks like a real man, but I don't want to say that in cause I'm wrong I"ll look like a complete nut head. Lighting and angle are great. very subtle reflection in the mud puddle. I like this photo very much.. good luck in the challenge. |

Oh, wicked shot. I love itâ€Â¦ It has everything this one; it’s a superb angle giving the shot a really good sense of scale, lighting is spot on and – most importantly – you have paid great attention to detail, right down to the puddle. The way the background slopes away gives the scene the final cutting edge. It was well worth the effort of going on location – it really makes the differenceâ€Â¦ Great shot, good luckâ€Â¦ (10) |

This is just so well done that I am full of admiration! Composition and angle of background is spot on. Focus seems soft on Action man and the details in his uniform are lost in the darkness a little. 7, Kavey |

Very central placement and lacking a little light. Good subject, though and well arranged. 7 - floyd |

Joe's right hand seems out of focus, but the rest is pretty well in. The dark uniform makes joe hard to see, but that's the point of his uni, right? 7 Swash |

Why does he have the flashlight in his hand? Why is he stupid enough to stand in the water? |

UPDATE: k, sorry for the delay. Technical thoughts: 1) The figure is dead center -- or very close. I think this is a good opportunity for you to take advantage of the rule of 3rds -- which I don't adhere to all the time, but this shot would work well. You could line the man up along the left line of thirds (closer to where the tree is in the background now). 2) The lighting in the forest is what is is, but I think this could do with a bit of front lighting -- not much, but just a bit to bring out the details. He is so dark that you lose much detail. This makes him almost a silhouette against his background, which makes me want to explore the background instead of focusing on him. The puddle is nice attention to detail, and I like the vine behind him, which emphasizes his size. All in all, I think it's just north of average with potential ;-) 6, just-married. ORIGINAL: Wow. This guy looks real. Bonus points for that. Technical comments coming after I finish my voting. just-married |

Thought 1: Action Man should lose the sunglasses if he needs a flashlight in the daytime.
Thought 2: I've gotta find my old G.I. Joe's... |
