 Well ok, yet again, I don't think this is a challenge winner. There was way too many complications of just HOW to do this to actually do it the way that I wanted - which was to have the banana peel totally wrapped around an orange with only one flap falling...

After (hours of!!) experimenting with hot glue, pins and needles, multiple ways to cut and a whole basket of oranges and bananas... I decided to change for a simpler tactic.

This is simply put on a light table in studio with an overhead softbox and and an strobe to the right with a large cup through a diffuser.

I guess it was more about the idea than the photography... this time around.

Although I do prefer the shots with people in them, this meets the challenge to me as it is a "creative interpretation of the theme."

Banana peel is well exposed, but that's about it. If I could see the orange better and it looked uncomfortable....

how strange that 2 people photographed the exact same banana / roange dealio. I can't get over that. The hues are nice here - I'm not 100% sold on the connection but it's growing on me.

Very creative idea and I like the composition. I think the lighting will hurt the score -- the color of the orange is not very strong, and the highlight seem to be blown.

Interesting take on the challenge. Exposure was too bright, though. Maybe too much flash? Can you reduce the amount, which might have made a more detailed image. Also maybe less contrast when you took the image.

Not a pretty picture, don't like the composition nor the crop. Furthermore, I feel that you should have tried to fit things together more smoothly. Looks like a rush job now.

This is a fun concept for this challenge! It is my opinion that the background is a bit... bland? I guess I may have liked to see more of a contrast.
