The mug is good - it's different, colorful, and interesting. The ears actually leave me wondering what it looks like inside, which is good. The lighting is ok, although slightly darker on the right hand side, which makes me wonder what it would look like with two light sources coming from either side. Unfortunately the very noticable background line/horizon is tilted. |

I like the colors. I have the feeling that I would like to see what you have in the mug. Is that Tony the Tiger? |

This isn't a bad photo but I'm not getting the idea of smell from it. If it wasn't for the title I would just see a photo of a mug. What would help this, imo, is to take this from a higher angle to actually show the coffee inside (was there coffee even coffee in this mug?) and some hot steam would really add to it too. Maybe a few coffee beans (like some others have done), a scoop of grinds, or a coffee pot or can of coffee blurred in the distance.
The lighting on the left of the mug is good but the right side of the mug is dark. Also, this looks tilted CW too much. You can really see it by looking at the background where the blue and white meet. It goes downhill from left to right.
Hope all of this helps... |

Your exposure is good. Nice and clear with the right amount of light. I like the mug. I think it would be more effective if you had shown a hint of the contents of the mug or at least some steam rising to hint to the contents. I don't know, but the two color background/table detracts? I don't think I like it. |

Nice cup and background, but wheres the Java?? This is a coffee mug shot, not an aroma of coffee shot. Should have angled higher, focusing on coffe, and perhaps have that wiff of steam rising. |

Except that I can't see the coffee itself, not even the surface!
So instead it's a (nicely taken) picture of a (nicely designed) mug with little about the image to make me think of any particular scent.
I lke the background, though the horizon needs to be straight. Lighting could do with a little filling towards right of mug.
I wonder if experimenting with different perspectives/ viewpoints would allow inclusion of the coffee itself in the image whilst still giving a strong composition? |

Your mug seems to be emply or is the camera just too low to see the contents. |

Heh! Where's the mocha java? All I see is an empty cup. You should have had the drink inside with nice aromatic steam coming out. I can't see a scent or aroma without it. :( |

That's not moka java! That's just a cup! ;) But it's a good picture in any case. (8) |

Nice cup. But it needs some coffe in it or steam rising out, something to tell us it's not a picture of a cup. |

A good image of the cup, with attractive colors, but where is the coffee ? Just looking at the image alone, without the context of the challenge theme or title, it does not express smell very strongly in my opinion. |

We just see a cup. It appears to be an empty cup. No relation to a tiger-moka?? Maybe some beans/ground around the bottom--a spoon? Just a nice looking cup with no coffee showing. |

Nice shot. Like the mug, really like the background, the lack of clutter and distractions, and the lighting, but may have had more impact if you actually showed the java by angling the shot down from a little higher up. Then adding some steam would have really topped it off and made it less static....otherwise the sense of aroma has to be just further implied. |
