This was a really "stinky" photo shoot.... A little candle smoke added the "fumes".... Glad it is done!

Greetings from the Critique Club.

OK, I see what you were going for here. But, the lighting makes it tough to figure out exactly what's going on here.

As for composition, I think you should have made it ovbiously off-centered, or exactly centered. Either would have worked, but this barely off-centered thing here makes it look like an accident.

Finally, as for the smoke, it is a great idea, and very well captured. Unfortunately, it starts from below your image, so it really just looks like smoke from an unrelated source.

I hope this helps!

Steve

The idea of using onions is great, yet the photo is not that interesting. Why the smoke?

I don't understand the link between the smoke and the onion!?

You are a very sick person, and I like that.

This is... just... absolutely wrong on so many levels, but very funny. I do wish the flatware was more obvious against the background -- or that may just be lighting issues -- as you really want to call some attention to it given the joke. And while I know the mantra is "centered is bad", in this case, the off-centered-ness does not strike me as the best choice.

Very, very wrong. In that good way.

Really good set up except the knife and fork the wrong war around. More detail in the cut onion would have been ideal.

Background is a little dark. I can't make out what is left or right foreground

This was a good idea to use smoke to represent odor. Unfortunatley there is too much smoke and the plate and silverware is almost invisible.

I love the steam off them, or smoke or whatever - great effect, really adds to the "smelliness"!!! lol
