The idea slowly evolved, from a 'modern day philosopher' wearing a toga and staring into a computer screen, eventually ending up in its current form. Conveniently, I had lots of bits of computer sitting around in my room anyway, and my flatmates were kind enough to model (thank you Adam) and help with lighting (thank you Sally). I wish that was more in focus, but there are limits to what my camera can do. I also should've arranged the lights differently to get a clear outline of the shadow of his head, but it's too late now.
Editing: levels, brightness/contrast, saturation, 'underwater' photo filter, usm, neat image, spot-editing, dodge/burn, create new layer, diffuse glow, convert to b&w using channel mixer, reduce opacity.

The shelf does get in the way, but moving it was just a bit too much effort, I suppose my score suffered accordingly.
