 Placed a candle behind the cup to light the steam, and used a candle in the foreground side to light the beans & front of the cup.
Had to Crop more than I wanted due to visible details in the background.
Contrast etc touched a bit.

I like the lighitng here, if a bit on the harsh side. It's very difficult (at least for me) to capture steam--you did it amazingly well.

Gorgeous! I love the steam coming from the top. The colours are very nice, and the way the light is shining onto the picture is great. The only little thing that I would change is the drop at the top of the mug. Great job!

I like this shot. Great lighting here. I also like the steam. Wish the handle was a bit more focused though. I gave this an 8.

Interesting use of backlighting. Makes the coffe glow. The steam is interesting. You can smell the coffee from here and the beans are an added edition that helps. 6

What a pity. You can see the aroma coming off the cup but the back lighting has caused an unacceptably bright hot spot and the front of the cup and the beans have no real lighting

This is a great shot, the black background was a good choice for this shot, the lighting is amazing, the lighting captures the coffee beans at a great angle,

lighting is just a tad too harsh.. it just needed some more fine tuning on the setup... good idea though ... (7)

Lovely warm colors, good inclusion of the beans, good capture of the steam, emphasising the smell of it. A bit softer backlight (diffused) , more in balance with the sidelight mich have prevented the burned out areas in the handle.

Ahh...I see that and immediately think of a rich aromatic blend. Maybe a litttttle on the dark side, but that also somewhat adds to the ambiance. Might have also been nice if the steam trailed up a little higher and more gradually, but now I'm being picky....because I like it though, of course.
