I am finding it odd that this doesn't register as pop culture with so many.

Retro-chic is quite in vogue in NYC and Americana/quirky road food is popular even outside of NYC.

nice building shot, i would give this as a print to the diner, But i would convert to a high contrast B&W

Good effort

Who's to say what pop culture really is. It seems to me that basically it's a popular fad. Certainly retro is "in" these days. And there are several 50s style diners were we live that are quite popular. Mmmmm.... real milk shakes made with real ice cream and an old fashion milk shake blender.

I like the shot. It says retro to me. I particularly like the reflections. And the processing gives it a special feel, almost as though it was a painted illustration. Was that effect done with High Pass?

I'm not sure I see POP culture but I sure do love the 50's look. You might want to see if they want to put this shot up on their wall. You did a great job giving that nostalgic feel to it.

I like the way you've presented it almost as a Polaroid picture - a pop culture reference of it's own.

Interesting, the colors and contrast here seem a little strange though, almost like its an actual print instead of digital
