It has to do with spinning because owls rotate their heads. It appears the owl is rotating his head in the picture, too. Nobody else thought of it.

Unless you have access to some sort of exotic bird sanctuary, I imagine this was difficult to take. Not every day you come across a horned owl.

Beautiful bird. It doesn't say "spin" to me, I'm afraid.

I think the subject is a WAY to big for the picture.

Don't see what this has to do with spinning.

LOL ouch! Too bad you could not catch that in slow motion - I bet that would have been an interesting picture. Good luck on your slightly out-of-the-box pic.

Thats so good, I never would have thought of the owl's ability to spin his head like that and incorperate it into a challenge!

As far as the photo itself I would have liked more room for the owl. It is so close to the edge of the frame that I'm having trouble keeping interest in the photo. I think I would have liked a tighter crop (maybe shoulder up). Anyway, thanks for a great interpretation and photo. 8

A nice looking owl but you might get some DNMC votes

Very original. Cute owl too. My only objection would be that the colour of the background is a bit too similar to the colour of the owl, whereas a contrast would've been nice. (I would say maybe selectively desaturate it, but then this is basic editing...)

Sorry, but for me this DNMC very well.
