 This is one amazing, early morning sunrise, at my sisters place recently. She lives at Koolewong, near Gosford, on the Central Coast of NSW, Australia.
She has her own jetty here, at Brisbane Waters, and I was so pleased my husband woke me in time, to get this magical sunrise. Just after 5am.....

I hope you like my "Free Study" for March 2007.

OK....I understand where you are coming from saving this is just a tad oversaturated.
I believe part of the problem is with my monitor, re my lap top, as it doesn't look nearly as oversaturated as it did when viewing on my sisters screen at the weekend.
I deliberated did highlight the colors up somewhat, to give the strong rich color effect, re the contrast with the waves ripples.....

OOOH I LOVE THE COLORS. WOULDN'T IT BE WONDERFUL IF WE COULD SEE THIS WITHOUT THE CAMERA? THE STRONG RICH COLOR IS PERFECT :)

Shez, this is so beautiful! I would have expected this to finish with a much higher score than 5.9. It's so hard to find just the right balance of processing. It seems to me that DPC'ers rather like the very processed looks in photos -- but I guess there's a very fine line
for when they blast you with "too much", huh?

I think you should be very proud of this. It's lovely!

well done shez ... this certainly recovered nicely and a reasonable score ... i reckon it should've done better .. but its a lot better than my 401st place !!! ..

Nice compostion, but a tad oversaturated for my taste. I would have also cropped out the boat on the right......it keeps drawing my eyes out.

I love the lighting and composition; it's classic. But the colors look very oversaturated and unrealistic on my monitor.

stunning .. really love this one .... have voted on 5%, but this really stands out ..... awsome colours ..... and love the sun rising over the hill with the boat in silhouette leading my eye to that bird flying, he seems to be just hangin there above the water ...... love that other bird just watching the scene .. =10

Right then, joke's on me as I now have to plough through 564 images and bump them all (yes, all of them) up. There'll be a third run through for fine tuning. It's day two now and I'm running late, sorry.

Lovely silhouettes, but I would've gone for more gentle colours - something that can at least theoretically pass as natural.

Beautiful image. The silhouettes are great, the birds are a nice touch. I think the colors are a little too saturated and look unnatural. To me if they were backed off a tad it's be much better.
