 Turned off all the lights in the house except the ones on the tree. Used tripod and set exposure for a full second to overexpose the lights and bring out enough detail on the rest of the tree and ornaments. Sheer nylon over camera lens.

I really like borders on some shots this one included.
The thin red border barely shows.
I think a thin white border would have given the photo more punch.
But that is just personal taste :)

Awesome Photo. Great use of soft focus. I didn't do a good job of achieving soft focus but IMO you got it just right. I predict this to be in top 3 and get a ribbon. Love the colors. Looks like a perfect photo for a Christmas card to me. Good luck!!!

Very appealing shot, though I would like to have seen more light on the bottom left area. I like the warm, glowy, intimate feel of the shot, and it is perfect for the soft focus challenge.
