 All right. I just got my camera last month, but I've been reading up on everything I can find to catch up. I took this shot last night. I did not use a flash, but I did take advantage of that god-awful, dim, yellow streetlamp lighting. Once I had a shot I liked, I resized down to 640x480, and auto-adjusted the colors in ACDSee (with no real clue of what I'm doing). I despeckled once. And here we are: the final product.

you know what? was going back through here and i think this is an amazing shot. the detail in the textures, the lighting,, and the colors are really come together for me.

Yes, this shot was taken at NIGHT! :) It was taken around 11pm to 1am... can't remember exactly. And this fugly snow comes from Edmonton :)

Good shot, strong composition. Good job on getting the low angle shot! The color is decent and like the lighting it is strange and unnatural, which adds to the photo. The only thing I can think of to improve is the focus, experiment with using the manual focus, set it at infinity and see what happens. You might also experiment with getting a leading line, through the picture.

Shadows everywhere, and a lot of light. The only thing reminiscent of night is the semi-dark sky.

It's not really night, is it? Looks like late evening/dusk.... But not a bad shot other than that.
