At first I didn't think much of this shot...then I looked at it. I like that although the hair is pretty much in focus... so is the model's face. Your entry most definitely fits the challenge, and, what I like more is that although the hair would have been great all by itself... the face is actually framed by the hair making the complete picture. Good job!

The picture is out of focus in parts. Seeing part of the face clearly would be really neat. |

It took me some time to see the face in this mess of hair. I don't like the composition. |

This is kind of a cool idea! Here's my two cents on what might help this photo out a little. :)
From what I can make out, it LOOKs like you focused on the face, instead of the hair. This is very good! But since there is so much unfocused hair in front of the focused face, it's hard to tell, and it looks like the whole picture is out of focus. :( It might be really cool if you had moved some of the hair away so there was no hair in front of the eye.
Secondly, the lighting is rather harsh. Many of the highlights look blown out and too white. I'm guessing that you used a flash? I don't know all that much about using the flash, but I think that if you use it too close, things get too bright and washed out, like in this shot.
Well, I hope that was helpful. Keep shooting! :) |

This is a good concept and I hope you'll consider taking it again but with a light on your subject from behind and a more diffuse light from 3/4 rather than directly in front. As it is, the light from the front causes your subjects hair to be so bright it obscures her face. Lighting from behind and 3/4 should reduce that.
Again, I really do hope you shoot this again and play with the lighting a bit. I think You'd have a really nice image. |

Your flash/lighting is too harsh, sorry. |
