Okay I know the insert is a gamble. I don't know if the DPCers will like it. Personally, I found the sky behind the insert to be dull and uninteresting and I think the insert adds an item of interest and focus which I like. I am expecting criticism for it because I guess that this is not a true landscape in the traditional sense.

Here's what I did:
* levels
* crop
* colour balance (add green, yellow)
* unsharp mask
* some burning
* added insert (which had the same steps done to it)
* resize

I don't think that this needed the extras as it is a great shot on its own.8

You probably have a good reason to add the small pic. I just don't understand it, sorry.

both pictures are cool. I don't really like the captioned picture, it takes away from the bigger one.

I love the lush coloring, and sharpness. Not sure if the exploded view works for me or not, but overall very cool shot.

Interesting overlay of images though it is still missing "zing". Good luck.

I think the inset image blows the whole concept..

Hey -- interesting use of the expert editing rules. I love that you pulled out a detail like this. Very nicely done.

I like the creativity of the insert, but I'm not sure it helps much. Do I want to see the detail of the cement? The colors are nice. 6

I like both the base picture and the detail (which is quite nicely done). Color, crispness are both good. I'm just not entirely sure I like the inset where it is, though I can't seem to think where else it could go.

interesting composition choice ... like all of the greens, composition is good ... I'm also not hating the 'picture in picture' feature either ... adds another way to show the great textures available here ... good luck!

that cutout detail is more of a distraction than an enhancement.

I dont like the detail, it makes it look like a textbook photograph.

Nice effect, but I think the detail inset is more of a distraction than a bonus when considering this as a landscape

love the big picture...not too crazy about the insert.

I would have found this shot more powerful if the inset was not included, and yet it does show good detail in the stone. Good contrast despite having few colours to work with in this image.

Neat idea. I like it all, but might suggest a more defining border on the inset image - set it off a little. I got a little confused at first.
