Greetings from the Critique Club!
This photo nicely captures the classic shape and colors of this lovely instrument. The plain white background with nothing besides the violin (not even a bow) works well; that's somewhat surprising to me, but I can't deny that I like it. The vertical format and position of the violin in the photo are perfect. The focus is great, but soft; normally softness would befit such an elegant subject, but I think the extreme white background calls for a sharper subject. The lighting is pretty good, but there is some glare. I don't mind the glare on the face of the instrument; it highlights the contour and conveys the shiny texture. But the glare on the neck distorts the shape and makes parts of two strings invisible. |

| I like the shape, but the blank white background is kind of cold. I think the shape of the instrument would be better brought out by closing in on part of the main body, without the neck. This would be a case where less is more. |

IMO, I would have preferred the subject on the bottom right.
Good lighting and rich wood tones on the violin. |
