This image is of Lord Krishna, sittig on the lap of lord Ganesha, and the image was taken when this 16 feet idol was being painted (for a religious ceremony). Lord Krishna, is known for his mischiefs in his childhood and specailly "Raas Leela". I have been brought up in a (Hindu) religious family. So my child-hood has been mostly influenced by the stories of Lord Krishna and his child hood. I never had the freedom to do a lot of things that I wanted to do and the fear of the Supernatural powers predominantly constrained my thoughts associated with freedom to do all! This image of Lord Krishna (in his childhood) is a reflection of my dreams to have a childhood like his, as read in the religious stories.
My apologies to all for touching a subject that may not interest most of the list members here. Thanks a ton to Lisae for encouraging! |

I've put this photo in my favourites. I guess I was the only one who gave it 10. That's so sad :(. Sanandan, you'll just have to take more photos that are understandable by the average American before you can get the kind of score you deserve... but then they wouldn't have the uniqueness I love... bah. |

This is kind of creepy...and definately not from my childhood, but I am sure it is from someones. It really is a beautiful photo, but it kind of looks like it's bleeding. either that or not totally painted or something. You captured the angle beautifully. and the lighting is great. I like how the subject fills the whole photo. Great job and good luck in the challenge. |

Lovely light and shadow. Really pops off the screen at me. Dont understand the idea but I like the image a lot. Very central framing, though. 8 - floyd. |

this is a great pic, but the connection to the challenge is very weak, imo. (6) ~mcmurma |

definitely a stretch for the "childhood" theme, but a nicely done photo nonetheless. my only suggestion would be not to center the subject so much, but rather more it off to one side a bit (in this case, the right side to make it look like she figure is looking into the photo instead of out of it.) |

This is so beautiful! She's sitting on Ganesha's knee :). I love Ganesha, I just finished making a 3d computer model of him. Is this Sanandan's photo? It's my favourite so far. I wish I could give it more than 10, but that will have to do! - lisae |

I think the challenge is extremely weak, sorry. As far as the photo goes, I just don't see much interest in it. It's a picture of a statue - there needs to be something special to make it more than that. 3, just-married |

OK, sorry. This is a very nice photograph, but AGAIN, it has NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS CHALLENGE. |

This is a neat photo... I must say that I'm a bit lost on how this image relates to childhood... I'm assuming that this statue is that of a child sitting on the knee of an adult? There may be a culture barrier between this image and my understanding of it :) - jmsetzler |

This is a wonderful photo. I think I get the idea, might be a little abstract of a concept for the majority. Looks like the statue is in the middle of a paint job? 8 Swash |

Sorry, the connection with Childhood escapes me here. Nice, clean image though. 6 Journey |
